Stephen Farrelly (WWE’s Sheamus) and Gary Anthony Williams Talk their TMNT 2 Characters, Bebop and Rocksteady
Stephen Farrelly (WWE’s Sheamus) and Gary Anthony Williams play the dimwitted sidekicks, Bebop (Wiliams) and Rocksteady (Farrelly) in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and recently discussed recording their ADR together, how they shot their animal transformations, and what their dormant animal would be.
On recording their ADR together: Farrelly: “It was important to keep that sort of like – keep that kind of chemistry going, rather than just doing it individually. So I’d go to LA and then we’d go in the booth and just –
WILLIAMS: Yeah. They tried some of it without us being there at the same time, but then they were like, oh, it’s better to put you guys together.”
On filming their animal forms: Farrelly: “We did a little bit of the motion capture. All the major stunts we had stunt guys do. There was like top class, world class stunt guys doing all the stunts. So they were unbelievable.
WILLIAMS: So yeah, and during that transformation stuff, during that, we did that in the CG suits, but then after that most of the other stuff was done by stunt guys, as far as the physical stuff.”
On their dormant animal: “The peregrine falcon. It’s the fastest animal in the world. It dives at like 200 miles per hour.”
The chemistry between these two stars really shined during the press conference. It was surprising that they had only met on set and not years before because the way they flowed off one another made it seem like they had known each other for years.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will hit theaters this Friday, June 3.
