How Many Times
Daniel Radcliffe is featured in the August issue of the British GQ Magazine to promote his new film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
On giving up alcohol: “I became so reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff,” Radcliffe said, adding that he had also become “complacent” about his job. “There were a few years there when I was just so enamoured with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really isn’t suited to me.”
On making a career after Potter: “If I can make a career for myself after Potter, and it goes well, and is varied and with longevity, then that puts to bed the ‘child actors argument’. If I can do it, in the biggest film franchise of all time, no other child actor who comes after will ever have to answer those same bloody questions.”
On how he plans to spend his fortune: “I don’t know what to do with it. I’m very fortunate to have it, and it gives you room to manouevre. But the main thing about having money is it means you don’t have to worry about it. And that for me is a lovely thing. It’s not for fast cars and hookers.”
Personally, Daniel is by far one of my favorite people to read about in articles and listen to in interviews. I always feel as though Daniel will honestly tell you the true story with no exaggerations, like some of Hollywood these days.
