Let Me Tell You Something
Kristen Stewart is on the cover of the June/July issue of Interview Magazine, alongside her Snow White and the Huntsman costar, Charlize Theron. Highlights from the interview can be found below.
On working with multiple female directors and actresses: “Quite a few, yeah, which is rare. It’s hard to generalize about that subject because the women I’ve worked with have all been so different. But if there’s one consistency, it might be that you do have to handle yourself differently on a set. Women can be more emotional—at least they sometimes show it more.”
On using her mom as inspiration for Snow White: “My mom is a tough lady. [both laugh] But with me, she’s definitely maternal. I think that anyone who was involved in the project probably had the same feeling about the story that the director Rupert [Sanders] and I did, which is that if you believe in it enough, you start to be able to convince yourself of things that could never be true. But it’s the same struggle for Snow White as well because she doesn’t really believe in her own effect on people.”
On doing smaller films in between the Twilight films: “I just happened to have enough time to be able to take other parts between those first few Twilight films. But it wasn’t about proving to people that I had something else to give.”
