One Hand Can Help Another

Ian Somerhlader is on the cover of Defy Magazine. He talks with the magazine about his organization, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation.

The foundation was set up to help raise money for the BP Oil spill that happened in 2010 and has only expanded since then. The mission of the foundation “…to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures.”

Ian wanted to create something that would help people never feel helpless. Ian said, “Watching BP’s oil destroy my home and one of the most beautiful bodies of water on the planet, I realized that feeling of helplessness should not go unnoticed—and that I, myself, nor my family, nor my children, nor anyone on this planet should ever feel that helpless again.”
