The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards were held tonight, September 6, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. One Direction took home the first award for the show for “Best Pop Video”.

Miley Cyrus introduced P!nk and Demi Lovato presented “Best Male Video” at the show. One Direction performed their hit “One Thing”. The band also took home “Best New Artist”!

Taylor Swift performed her new hit single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” to close the show!
