Vanessa Hudgens posed for Paper Magazine in these new photos. The High School Musical star also chatted with the magazine about her racy new role in Spring Breakers.

In the interview, Vanessa talks about the transition from Disney star to her Spring Breakers role, her Frozen Ground role, working with James Franco, the paparazzi, and so much more. Highlights can be found below.

On her transition from Disney star to her Spring Breakers role: “It’s always been hard for actors to cross that bridge but honestly, you have to hold out and do what you think is right for yourself  But I also think it is about finding someone who truly believes in you. Harmony took a really big jump in hiring me and [co-stars] Selena [Gomez] and [ABC Family actress] Ashley [Benson].”

On her Frozen Ground role: “Ever since I was young, I wanted to play really heavy and intense roles and really push myself in a dramatic direction. So I was like, ‘A prostitute! I can play a prostitute! This is going to be exciting.'”
