A Deep Breath
Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, and Spring Breakers director Harmony Korine recently posed for the Los Angeles Times and talked about their new indie movie as well.
Selena and Vanessa also talked to the New York Times about shocking the critics with their SB roles, not being like their characters, how they learned about the movie, and so much more.
On shocking people: (Selena)“Disney is a machine, and I’m grateful for it, but I feel like being part of that environment made me crave the reaction from other projects even more. Creatively this is where I wanted to go.”
(Vanessa)“I want people to look at me not as that girl from ‘High School Musical,’ but as an actress they admire,. With ‘Spring Breakers’ I’m looking for a reaction for sure. I want to shock people.”
On not being like their characters: (Vanessa) “I’m so normal and boring in real life, which is part of what made this part so fun. I’m more the type to stay home with a cheese plate and a glass of white wine.”
On finding out about the movie: (Selena) “My mom is a Harmony fan and read the script. I understood why they thought it could be an interesting choice,”
