Selena Gomez sat down with Reuters to promote her new film, Spring Breakers. Highlights from the interview can be found below.

On whether or not she was nervous to audition for Spring Breakers: “I was more excited and enticed. When I auditioned for Harmony, we talked about how he wanted to leave my lifestyle behind and have me go on this adventure with him. I knew it was going to be crazy, but I was comfortable with it.”

On going back to Disney to film Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex: “I missed them. I missed the channel, I missed everybody on the show. It was a big part of my life that I’m thankful for. That’s where I started so I wanted to go back.”

On balancing her transition to more mature films with being a role model for children: “It’s a very awkward transition to make. I want to challenge myself and (my choices) may not be appropriate for a young audience. I’m choosing movies that I feel are artistically fun and creative. I hope people are appreciative of the work I do. I feel like I’m doing the best I can and hopefully it works out.”
