Chloe Moretz has been offered the lead role in The Equalizer. Apparently, after reading with Denzel Washington for the role Sony has decided to offer her the chance to star in the film.

Deadline is reporting, “the role was originally drawn as a 20-year old. After Moretz did a chemistry reading with Washington, he was very impressed as was everybody else, and the role will be redrawn for Moretz to play a young prostitute, reminiscent of Joe Foster in Taxi Driver.”

The film is slated to be released on April 11, 2014 and Sony hopes to make a franchise out of the film.
