Taylor Swift and Harry Styles couldn’t avoid each other forever. The exes ran into one another at Video Music Awards after party on Sunday evening, August 25, at the SoHo Grand Hotel Club in New York City. They posed for a photo with mutual friend, Ed Sheeran.

According to a source for US Weekly, the reunion was “super awkward” and “Ed made sure to keep them separate.” Not much else is known about whether or not the pair exchanged pleasantries before parting ways.

I feel bad for people when they have to play the awkward peacemaker. It takes a lot of energy to keep both sides happy.
