Done Is Done
More information on Andrew Garfield’s planned role at the 2014 Academy Awards has been released. Andrew was notably absent at the award show, this past Sunday, March 3, after being announced as a presenter earlier in the week.
During the show, Andrew was suppose to induct Miles Scott “Batkid” into the super-hero family, but on the day of the awards the segment was scrapped. Miles and his family were in Los Angeles when they were notified that the segment would not go on.
Sources have told The Hollywood Reporter, “Miles rehearsed a segment with Garfield during a Saturday run-through, but it was then decided that the segment wasn’t coming together as originally envisioned it and it was cut from the show — as was a second musical number that didn’t appear in the final broadcast. Insiders say it was part of the production process, which involved mounting segments before deciding if they would ultimately work within the show.”
I would have liked to see this segment, but I guess due to time constraint and show fluidity it had to go. Though, you’re telling me they couldn’t have scrapped something else and made this work?
What do you guys think?
