Can’t Say Why

Andrew Garfield was suppose to partake in a special piece for the Oscars this past weekend in Los Angeles. However, Andrew was a no-show at the award show and rumors began to circulate as to why he didn’t show up.

According to reps for the actor, Andrew was suppose to induct San Francisco’s “Batkid”, Miles Scott, into a special superhero club during the annual ceremony. The duo even participated in rehearsals for segment this past Saturday, March 1.

However on the day of the ceremony (March 2), “Garfield was informed via email that the piece didn’t fit with the tone of the show … and therefore had to be cut.” No other word was released as to why the piece didn’t fit and why Chris Evans, who was originally not listed to present, was presenting in his place.

Andrew did apparently manage to make it up to the child. “Garfield accompanied him to Disneyland on Monday … and even conducted a mini Oscars ceremony in Scott’s hotel room (tuxes and all).”

I am glad Andrew’s team said something because the rumors were really beginning to get ridiculous. I’m also glad Andrew still made the trip very special for “Batkid”.
