A Long History

Emma Stone sat down with The Guardian to talk about her new movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Emma has spent the past couple of weeks promoting the movie overseas and in the United States.

In the interview, she talks her character, Gwen Stacy, Gwen’s relationship with Peter Parker, her rising fame, and so much more. Highlights can be found below.

On Gwen: “After what’s happened to her dad [a police chief, who died in the first film], Gwen has a great awareness of mortality and time and how quickly life goes. She now has an emotionally driven reason to make logical decisions, and her story resonated hugely with me, because it is so incredibly dramatic.”

On Gwen and Peter: “I could relate to that feeling, that all-encompassing, you’ll-die-for-this-person first love. It’s everything I felt in my first relationship, that total Romeo and Juliet story played out. I never had an opportunity to fall in love like that in a movie before.”
