Selena Gomez has apparently fired her mother and stepfather as her managers. The young star had been managed by her parental unit since she began at Disney in 2006.

According to TMZ, Selena fired them “last month, permanently relieving them of all duties related to the management of her career.” This really shouldn’t come to a shock to anyone since news that she was in talks to team up with Katy Perry’s management team, Direct Management, was released.

I guess she is following in the footsteps of the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus, who also changed up their teams after parting with Hollywood Records. I wonder if we’ll see her on a new label, too!
