Part Of My Life Is Over

Selena Gomez’s mom recently spoke out about her daughter firing her as her manager. The news broke earlier last week that Selena had parted ways professionally with her mom and stepdad and now it seems that the pair had no idea it was coming.

According to TMZ, Mandy stated that “…she and Selena’s stepdad sat down with the singer Thursday… and asked Selena if she was absolutely sure she wanted to move in a different direction. Selena said yes.

Mandy tells us she thought last month’s conversation was just talk  … and she’s having a hard time processing the fact that she’s no longer Selena’s manager.”

However, there seems to be no bad blood between them. Mandy went on to say that “she respects her daughter’s decision … and plans to continue producing several movie projects with Selena”.

Am I the only one who finds this whole thing unsurprising? She is twenty-one, there is no need for her to be managed by the parental unit any longer.
