It’s You I Remember
Dakota Fanning sat down with IndieWire to talk about her new movie, Night Moves. Dakota stars alongside Jesse Eisenberg in the drama.
In the interview, she also talked working with director, Kelly Reichardt, growing up on screen, if she gives her sister, Elle work advice, what she still wants to do, and so much more. Highlights can be found below.
On growing up on screen: “I know it must seem so different to any other person growing up. But I think that every person growing up feels like the world is watching them in some way. Whether it’s everyone at school or everyone in your little town. When you’re young you think it’s all about you and what you look like and what you wear can destroy your whole life.
And then you grow up and realize life is not actually about me. It doesn’t really matter. I should be happy and it’s not about what other people think of you. The world continues to spin whether you have a zit or not, you know? The world doesn’t fall apart, it’s OK.”
On if she gives Elle work advice: “Not really about work. We don’t really talk about work that much. More just sisterly things. But she has a strong will and her own opinions so I don’t think she needs a whole lot from me. I’m sure I could use some of her advice.
