5 Seconds of Summer covered Green Day’s “American Idiot” as part of Kerrang Does Green Day’s tribute album. The new project was released in the UK today, June 11.

In other 5 Seconds of Summer news, the boys announced that they will not be opening for One Direction when the boys bring their Where We Are Tour to Copenhagen and Porto. The boys stated, “Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel our support sets on the 1D Tour for Copenhagen on June 16th/17th and Porto on July 13th 🙁 Mcbusted are now going to be playing in Copenhagen and D.A.M.A will be opening in Porto, so it’s still going to be a wicked bunch of shows!

We are really sad we can’t make it and are very sorry to any of our fans who were looking forward to seeing us… We really hope to be able to come back to perform and see you all very soon! We love you. – Ash, Mikey, Cal & Luke x”
