Don’t Desert Me

Zendaya will no longer be playing Aaliyah in Lifetime’s biopic on the singer. Zendaya was confirmed to play Aaliyah earlier this month, but it would seem that she has deiced to back out.

According to her rep, “Zendaya is no longer involved in the project.” E! news, who spoke with the source, stated, “…there were production issues, including problems obtaining the rights to Aaliyah’s music”. 

Her rep went onto say, “Aaliyah has always been an inspiration to Zendaya. She was honored to portray her and pay tribute to her. If she is going to do it, she wants to do it right.”

This is sad because Zendaya really wanted to play her. I hope the production issue s is true and she didn’t drop the film because of the critics.
