Elle Fanning has landed a new role. The Maleficent star is set to play Frankenstein author, Mary Shelley in A Storm in the Stars.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting, “Storm, written by Emma Jensen, tells the story of the passionate love affair between dangerously charismatic poet Percy Shelley and 17-year-old Mary Wollstonecraft, who would a year later write Frankenstein as Mary Shelley.

The script aims to tell of the tumult of first love of a young woman out of step with her time (Mary was well-educated and came from a family of intellectuals) who wrote one of the first pieces of literary genre fiction in modern times.”

The film will be directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour. Production will begin in 2015. What do you think of Elle’s new role?
