Demi Lovato Kicks Off World Tour in Baltimore
Demi Lovato kicked off her World Tour in Baltimore, MD last night, September 6. Christina Perri and MKTO opened the show at the Baltimore Arena.
MKTO was the first act to hit the stage and definitely showed signs of opening night jitters. They did not sound like they do on their album (not necessarily a problem) but the difference was too stark a contrast. Christina came next and this girl killed it. She had no backup dancers and no real production, relying solely on the power of her voice and piano. I loved that she started with “Jar of Hearts”. Most openers choose to save their more popular songs until the end of their set, but she opted to kick her set off with a bigger hit and the crowd loved it.
Demi took the stage around 9:30pm and showed why she is the headliner. The costumes were fabulous, her voice sounded great, and the production was fantastic. Kudos to Nick Jonas for helping to put all of this together. These two did a great job bringing their visions to life. My favorite performance of the night was Demi’s cover of “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. Her dance at the end was a crowd favorite.
To all those seeing Demi on her World Tour this Fall you will not be disappointed. The show is fun and I think one of her best ones yet!
