Emma Watson Joins Disney’s Beauty And The Beast

Emma Watson has landed herself a new role. The young actress will be playing Belle in Disney’s live adaptation of Beauty And The Beast.

Emma was originally tapped to star in Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of the story until production fell apart this past summer. Disney immediately reached out to Emma upon hearing the news asking her to join their version, which has Bill Condon set to direct.

Emma announced, via her Facebook, this morning, January 26, her excitement for the project stating, “I’m finally able to tell you… that I will be playing Belle in Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There’. My six year old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it. Emma xx”.

Production on the film will begin later this year and will hopefully hit theaters in 2016.
