Emma Stone Is Featured In The June Issue Of Interview Magazine
Emma Stone is featured in the June issue of Interview magazine. The young actress is in the magazine to promote her new film Aloha. Highlights from her interview with actress Diane Keaton are below.
On being prepared to play great roles: “I feel more ready than I ever have to do something incredibly different and challenging and scary. I think because I just played Sally Bowles [in the Broadway revival of Cabaret]. You know, because you started on Broadway, there’s something about having to go up and do it every night, no matter how you’re feeling, having to tell the whole arc of a story and not just scene by scene the way that you do on film. I feel more like I understand acting in a different way. It’s totally different when you’re shooting something. But only in the past six months to a year have I felt like I can really try these different things.”
On her favorite movie ending: “My favorite ending of all time is in City Lights [1931], the Charlie Chaplin movie. I just watch the ending of that movie alone on YouTube and cry. [laughs] I think any even mediocre movie can be saved by a great ending. And vice versa. A great movie with the wrong ending can just tank the whole thing.”
On East Coast summers: “Oh, I love it because you feel alive. You don’t feel like you’re being baked alive. You’re sweating and your hair looks terrible and you’re just … Like in New Orleans, it’s a sexy heat. Whereas in Arizona it’s heat with a murderous intent.”
