Fifth Harmony Explains Billboard Music Awards Performance Cancellation
The ladies of Fifth Harmony have released a statement about their lack of performance at this past weekend’s Billboard Music Awards. The group was supposed to perform their song “Worth It” during the award show, but ended up canceling the performance midway through.
Fifth Harmony waited a couple of days before releasing a statement, via their Tumblr, letting fans know the events that led to the cancellation. The girls stated, “Because we didn’t get to do a rehearsal in the arena until the day of the show, and with the nature of the production of this song, we didn’t feel happy with how it sounded.”
It’s unfortunate that the girls opted not to perform. I just wish they had announced it before the show started.
You can check out the full statement below.
“Hey Guys!! We wanted to write a longer response about last night to clear some things up and give you the full story- Because of the success of Worth It, we were given the opportunity to do an acapella version of the song during the show. Because we didn’t get to do a rehearsal in the arena until the day of the show, and with the nature of the production of this song, we didn’t feel happy with how it sounded. You know we strive for perfection so after a conversation with our team, we all decided it was best to wait for a moment to showcase Worth It at its best. It was a united decision that we all made together. We love you and your passion and hope you can understand that part of our journey is making the right decisions in tough moments. 💗 -Ally, Camila, Dinah, Lauren and Normani”
