BeautifulBallad Reviews ABC Family’s New Show Stitchers
Stitchers is the latest TV drama to air on ABC Family and it may just need some stitches of its own. Created by Jeffrey Alan Schechter this new show lacks the personality found in many of the network’s other shows.
This new show tells the story of a blunt college techie named Kristen, played by newcomer Emma Ishta, recruited to join a secret agency known as Stitchers. While with the Agency, Kristen is “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased, with the help of fellow lab geniuses, Cameron (Kyle Harris) and Linus (Ritesh Rajan), in order to solve crimes.
Reliving the memories of the recently departed seems to be quite the trend these days, but whereas the show’s other competition thrives Stitchers falls short. Many of the characters lack the charm and humor necessary to create a connection with the audience while the plot becomes very predictable as the minutes pass.
Maybe as the season grows the series will be able to find some footing, but for now it looks to be stuck in quite the rut.
Stitchers airs on ABC Family tonight, June 2, after Pretty Little Liars.
