BeautifulBallad Reivews Magic Mike XXL
Magic Mike XXL dances its way into theaters today, July 1 and sees the return of Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, Joe Manganiello and Adam Rodriguez as the Kings of Tampa. In this sequel, the Kings of Tampa hit the road to Myrtle Beach for one last ride to attend the Stripper Convention.
Several newcomers join the fray this go around including Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Donald Glover and Jada Pinkett Smith. These three added a nice new element to the movie and brought out something new in the characters we knew from Magic Mike.
This movie, unlike its predecessor, doesn’t take itself too seriously. Where Magic Mike focused too much on Mike’s struggles and relationships, Magic Mike XXL focuses on the friendship between the guys and, surprisingly, female empowerment.
The real draw to this movie is the music and the dancing. The soundtrack is great and, of course, all of these men know how to dance. The Kings of Tampa’s routine at the end is definitely worth the wait and Manganiello’s scene in the convenience store will have you laughing so hard tears will come to your eyes.
The dialogue is nothing special and the plot seems a little out there, but if you are looking for a movie to see with the girls or if you are looking for a movie where you can just lose yourself for two hours this is it.
