BeautifulBallad Reviews Marvel’s Ant-Man
Marvel’s Ant-Man is a delightful, humorous addition to the Marvel Universe. Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man holds its own in a world where everything seems larger than life.
Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) is a down on his luck ex-con who can’t find a job, something he desperately needs so he can see his daughter. Lang returns to burgling, betting on a friend’s tip which could be just the ticket needed to turn their fortunes around.
Enter Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), an aging scientist who essentially blackmails Lang into taking on the Ant-Man identity. Pym is set on also protecting the infamous Pym particle which ideally could change the world’s military forever. Throw in a crazed and greedy villain (Corey Stoll), Pym’s intelligent and stubborn daughter (Evangeline Lily), and a crew of eccentric sidekicks and the film is an entertaining ride.
Paul Rudd is an excellent addition to the Marvel’s ever expanding list of charismatic actors. His comedic timing and every-man nature are endlessly charming. The audience will want him to succeed. Evangeline Lily is perfect as the strong, kick-butt daughter trying to please her father.
Ant-Man is a thrilling, hilarious, fast paced ride that will leave audiences wanting more from the pint-sized superhero. Be sure to stay through the credits, Marvel has once again included not one, but two extra scenes to help tie together the MCU.
