Details about Miley Cyrus’ Collab w/the Flaming Lips

Billboard magazine has some new details about Miley Cyrus’ new album. She apparently has been working on her own solo album and an album with the Flaming Lips for the last two years.

Her album with the Flaming Lips is a collaborative effort between Miley and Wayne Coyne. There isn’t a set number of songs but it is allegedly not a full album.

A source close to Miley shared, “It’s not a Miley record. It’s a project she’s been working on with the Flaming Lips. It’s amazing, it’s incredible, it just needs to be understood that it’s not a typical, straightforward Miley record — we don’t want there to be confusion in the marketplace.”

Miley is supposedly excited about the project and the source stated the sound “…is somewhat psychedelic rock, but Miley’s writing sensibilities lean toward pop, so it’s a nice, healthy mix of both. But at the end of the day, it is Miley.”

Miley is still under the RCA label who has given her their full support for this additional project. RCA Ceo Peter Edge revealed Miley is “absolutely with RCA — we have a great relationship with her and there’s been no falling-out whatsoever”.
