BeautifulBallad Reviews NBC’s Blindspot
NBC will debut its new show, Blindspot tonight, September 21. Starring, Jamie Alexander, the show follows a woman (Alexander) who is found in the middle of Time Squares covered in tattoos with no memory of who she is. The FBI has taken the woman in to see if they can figure out who she is and why one of her tattoos features the name of one of their agents, Kurt Weller, played by Sullivan Stapleton.
Jamie Alexander is great as the confused and angry “Jane Doe” and her chemistry with Stapleton’s tough as nails Agent Weller could take their relationship down a multitude of different paths this season. The secondary cast provides the humor that is missing from their two lead characters, which can be quite refreshing in moments when Doe and Weller can be a little too serious.
The episode has its ups and its down, but overall it was pretty good. As the episode unfolds, the team of Agents working on the “Jane Doe” case realizes that her tattoos are clues and it is up to them to figure out the clues before it is too late. Make sure to stick around for the entire episode. The beginning can be a little slow at points, but it will get the wheels turning in your head. By the time the episode wraps the mystery of who is “Jane Doe” (Alexander) will have begun to unravel and will leave you wanting to come back next week to find out more.
All in all, the show is something different for NBC. Their past couple of government type pilots seemed to always have too much going on in the first episode, but this show gives just enough that leaves you wanting more. Though the question remains, will the “solve the puzzle” drama show have enough story to tell to last more than one season.
Definitely give Blindspot a watch tonight and let us know what you thought of it.
