The first sneak peek from the season premiere of The Vampire Diaries has been released. This new episode is titled “Day One of Twenty-Two Thousand, Give or Take” and it will air on The CW on October 8.

In the sneak peek, Bonnie is keeping her promise to Elena by recording every detail of what she is missing whilst she is gone. Meanwhile, Damon and Alaric struggle with controlling their grief over losing their loved ones.
