Supergirl 1×02 Review & Melissa Benoist Appears on What to Watch

Melissa Benoist appeared on What to Watch to talk about her new show, Supergirl. Melissa plays Kara Danvers aka Supergirl on the new CBS show.

Last night, November 2, the second episode of the season aired, “Stronger Together”. Kara took on a new baddie from Fort Rozz in the episode and came face to face with her Aunt, whom she presumed dead. The episode was a good second episode. We began to learn more about our secondary characters and began creating new relationships between them as well.

Jeremy Jordan (Winn) and Mehcad Brooks (Jimmy) stole the episode as they attempted to help Kara become the hero National City needs, not a bulldozing machine. Their dynamic was great and their scenes provided a lot of the humor in last night’s episode.

However, Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant had the best scene of the episode when she is talking to Kara about the type of hero National City needs. She not only talked about how hard it was to be a woman in this society, but she also gave Kara the advice she needed to start becoming a better hero. Sure she told Kara all this in a negative way, but it got through to Kara and helped see what she needed to do to become that hero…start at the bottom and work her way up.

We also got out first look at Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord. From the little bit shown on him, we know he is no fan of Supergirl. He wants her out of National City, so we shall see if his tune changes over these next couple of episodes.

The action scenes and CGI still need work and the flashbacks weren’t really necessary, but overall it was a good episode. Next week, Cat gets her one on one interview with Supergirl and Lucy Lane is introduced. Two things that should make for a good episode.

What did you guys think of this week’s episode?
