ABC Family Gives Straight to Series Order for New Horror Show by OUAT Creators

ABC Family has given a straight to series order for a new horror tale called, Dead of Summer. The new show was created by Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz & Edward Kitsis, along with Once Upon a Time writer Ian Goldberg.

The horror show is “Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer, and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Clearwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses – and first kills.

Clearwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn. Part coming-of-age story, part supernatural horror story”.

The new show will air on Freeform, ABC Family’s soon to be new name, in 2016. Sounds interesting, but fingers crossed this doesn’t affect Once Upon a Time. I know a couple of actors’ contracts on that show are up at the end of this season, so hopefully this isn’t a sign.
