Abigail Breslin to Star in ABC’s Production of Dirty Dancing

ABC is stepping into the musical game! The network will be putting on a musical version of Dirty Dancing starring Abigail Breslin.

Breslin will take on the role of Baby, made famous by Jennifer Grey in the 1987 movie. No actor has been cast yet for the role of Johnny, which was originated by Patrick Swayze, but if anything is announced we will let you know.

Dirty Dancing follows “an innocent young woman in the early 1960’s who vacations with her affluent parents and siblings in the Catskill Mountains and falls for the resort’s working-class dance instructor.”

Unlike NBC’s past musical events and FOX’s upcoming Grease adaptation, this show will not be live. It will be three hours long and will have been previously taped.
