New Details on FOX’s Grease Live Revealed & New Poster Released
New details on FOX’s Grease Live were released today, December 17. Director Thomas Kail and Production Designer David Korins revealed to press today a number of new details on the live musical, including the participation of a live audience.
That’s right, a live audience will be in studio during the production and they will be used during certain scenes in the musical. The audience will be seen during the production in scenes like the Rydell Pep Ralley and the school dance.
The duo also revealed that the production will be largely based on the 1978 film, rather than the Broadway musical. This is not to say, that it won’t have elements from the show, but a majority of the audience grew up loving the movie, so that is what they are going to base it off of.
The show will also be putting out an album. When the album is released is still up in the air, but the whole cast is set to be involved in it.
The musical will go live on FOX on Janaury 31. In the gallery, you will find Korins’ rendering for the “Hand Jive” section of the musical.
