Elizabeth Olsen Approached to Play Michelle on Fuller House?!
Elizabeth Olsen was apparently approached to play Michelle Tanner in the Full House spin-off, Fuller House. Fuller House executive producer, John Stamos was chatting on Sirius XM’s Radio Andy when he let slip that they had approached Elizabeth to take over her sisters’ role.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen originated the role of Michelle on Full House back in the 90’s. For the spin-off, the duo opted not to return to play the youngest sister in the Tanner family. Thus, according to John, “We actually went to…I don’t think this has been talked about. I didn’t do it, I think [executive producer] Jeff Franklin did. I said, ‘Call the sister. Ask her.’ We talked to her agent and her agent was like, ‘Come on, she’s not going to do that.’ But we did call her agent.”
The new series is set to premiere on Netflix this coming February. I’m not surprised that the Olsen twins decided not to return. They have been out of the acting world for a while now and it would be kind of hard to have both of them play the same role. They don’t look that alike any more and people would be able to tell in the episodes which sister was playing Michelle that day.
Are you guys upset that Mary-Kate and Ashley aren’t returning for Fuller House. Also, would you behind Elizabeth playing Michele if she had said yes?
