A preview for Zayn Malik’s upcoming interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 has arrived. The snippet features Zayn talking about how he “never really wanted to be there- in the band”.

Zayn also reveals he had a hard time writing with the band and that he never felt like 1D was making the music he wanted to make. He shares he thinks the other boys in the band were aware he didn’t like the music they were making.
