Zack Snyder Reveals Why He Did Not Cast Grant Gustin as The Flash in his DC Film Universe
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director, Zack Snyder has opened up about not casting Grant Gustin as The Flash in his DC Universe. Ezra Miller will be playing Barry Allen in the upcoming Justice League movie and many fans wondered why Snyder did not cast Grant, who plays him on TV, in the role.
Snyder revealed, “I just don’t think it was a good fit. I’m very strict with this universe, and I just don’t see a version where … that (tone is) not our world.” He also said, “Even if Grant Gustin is my favorite guy in the world and he’s very good, we made a commitment to the multi-verse (idea), so it’s just not a thing that’s possible.”
I agree with his comment on the tones being different. The Flash TV series has a lighter tone to it, while Snyder, so far, has taken a darker route with the movies. It should be interesting to see Miller take on the role and how he compares to Grant. I can’t wait!
