Freeform Gives Series Order to Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger

MARVEL'S CLOAK AND DAGGER

Freeform is the next network to join the superhero business. The network has given a straight to series order to Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger.

The new series is based on the characters introduced in the 1982 Spectacular Spider-Man series, Tyrone “Ty” Johnson and Tandy Bowen. Ty “Cloak” has the ability to absorb the bad guys into darkness. while Tandy “Dagger” can shoot light daggers.

Freeform will hold its Upfront today, April 7 in New York City, so hopefully more information in regards to the show and maybe even some casting information will be released. I was wondering when Freeform would jump into the superhero game.

UPDATE: Freeform has released a general synopsis and concept art for their new show. The synopsis reads, “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.”
