Ian Somerhalder Says The Vampire Diaries’ Eighth Season Will Be the Last
Ian Somerhalder attended Walker Stalker Con in Nashville, TN today, April 10. During his appearance, Ian made quite the announcement to fans about The Vampire Diaries’ upcoming eighth season.
The actor told fans, “We have decided to do one last season [the eighth season] to really do the story justice.” It was announced earlier this month by Kat Graham that this next season would be her last, but this is the first we are hearing that it will be the show’s last.
The show was renewed earlier this year by the CW, so it only makes sense they would given fans one last season to wrap all the storylines. I am going to guess we will either get a confirmation on this statement at the CW Upfront in May or Comic Con in July.
Though it if is the last season, the big question is if Nina Dobrev will return for the final episode?
