Vanessa Hudgens Opens Up About Losing her Dad to Cancer

Vanessa Hudgens opened up to PEOPLE about losing her father to cancer earlier this year. Vanessa’s father passed away the night before she was set to perform on FOX’s Grease Live.

In the interview, she talks finding out her father had cancer, how she got through it, and so much more. Highlights can be found below.

On finding out her father had cancer: “It felt like it was some mean joke. You think you’re going to make it through, you’re there with them every step of the way, holding their hand, wanting it to be okay.”

On how she got through it: “Every day I came to work, they [her GREASE Live family] all hugged me, checked in on me, made sure I was doing okay.”
