Jennifer Lawrence and Sophie Turner Open Up on their Roles in Future X-Men Movies

Sophie Turner and Jennifer Lawrence, separately, opened up about their roles in future X-Men movies. Both girls are starring in the latest movie in the franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse.

This is Jennifer’s third appearance as Mystique in the series and when asked if she would return for more she told Entertainment Weekly, “I would love to come back. I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realize how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest.” However, there is one condition for her return, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy would have to be returning as well. She told EW, “Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking. Like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are.”

In regards to Sophie, she is a little less reluctant. If she does return, she would love to see them take another go at Jean Grey’s “Dark Phoenix” storyline. ““The seeds of Phoenix definitely are planted in there [X-Men: Apocalypse]. She can’t control her powers unless she either fully stops them or lets them all loose, and that’s kind of Phoenix. I think in future movies to come we’ll definitely see a bit more of that.”

Honestly, I would love it if both stars came back for future films, but if the next ensemble movie is centered on the X students, I would rather see just Jean and the other students. Let Jennifer take a break from the series amd bring her back in another movie down the road.
