Descendants 2 to Premiere in 2017 & China Anne McClain Joins Cast as Ursula’s Daughter

Descendants 2 has been given the go ahead by Disney Channel. The network made the announcement today, June 10.

Production on the sequel will begin this Summer with Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson set to return as the children of Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Jafar and the Evil Queen, as well as Mitchell Hope as the son of Belle and the Beast.

China Anne McClain will join the cast as Uma, daughter of The Little Mermaid‘s Ursula. They are also in the midst of casting the children of Captain Hook and Gaston for the new DCOM.

Kenny Ortega is returning to direct the sequel and it will premiere on Disney Channel in 2017! I am so excited to see what the second one has in store for us!
