Katie Cassidy to Appear in the Season 5 Premiere of Arrow?!

It looks like Katie Cassidy might be appearing in the Season 5 premiere of Arrow. Katie was spotted arriving in Vancouver last night, July 5, and many fans think the star may be back in town to appear in the show’s Season 5 premiere episode.

The season premiere is called, “Legacy” and production on the episode began yesterday. At the end of Season 4, Katie’s character, Laurel Lance (aka Black Canary) was killed off the show. Now we know the character is no longer alive in the present day, but that does not mean she could not appear in flashbacks or, as seen on The Flash, as a different version of Laurel via different earths.

To add more fuel to the fire, earlier this Summer, showrunner Marc Guggenheim posted a photo of Season 5 production art, which featured a statue of the Black Canary. In the season premiere, Star City could be erecting a statue to honor their fallen hero. If this is the case, it would be the perfect time to show some flashbacks of the character. Also, the title of the episode is “Legacy”, which means “a gift of property, especially personal property, as money, by will or anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor”. Laurel could have left something behind for all the characters that could come into play in the episode.

However, The Flash also begins production on its third season this week in Vancouver, so she could be appearing in that show’s premiere. We know the first episode is called, “Flashpoint” and will be following the Flashpoint comic arc, so Katie could be appearing as a “Flashpoint” version of Laurel or a “Flashpoint” version of Black Siren.

You can see a photo of her at the airport last night on our Tumblr. She was apparently trying to be discreet, so it definitely sounds like she will be appearing in one of the two episodes. Though she could be there for an entirely different reason. What do you guys think?
