Highlights from Arrow’s 2016 SDCC Panel
The cast of Arrow attended San Diego Comic Con yesterday, July 24. Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Willa Holland, John Barrowman, Paul Blackthorne and Echo Kellum were all on hand to speak about the upcoming season of their CW show.
In the upcoming season, Oliver will begin to create his legacy by training a whole new team. Katie Cassidy will return for the premiere episode and has been made a regular across all Berlanti DC properties.
In regards to our characters, Felicity will be dealing with a lot of bottled up emotions and guilt this season, as will Diggle and Lance. In regards to Olicity, Stephen revealed that Starling City will come first this season, but fans can expect more of an equal partnership between the two.
Thea will be taking more of a political role this season. She will be stepping in for Oliver as Mayor, while he is focusing on saving the city, but does not really want to step back into her old vigilante role. Someone who wants to step into the vigilante role is Curtis. He is deadset on becoming a vigilante and that desire will begin to raise questions between him and his husband.
This season the show will also reach its 100th episode, which will take place during the 4 episode crossover and this season will be the end of a saga for the show. The writers have the show planned through Season 5, so if picked up for a sixth season, they will be able to start from a clean slate.
This was a great panel. I absolutely loved that they sang “You’ll Be Back” from Hamilton. My life is now complete!
