Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart are Featured in the September Issue of Nylon

Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart are featured in Nylon magazine. The Riverdale costars are featured in the magazine’s upcoming September issue.

In the issue, the duo talk their Riverdale characters Veronica (Mendes) and Betty (Reinhart), their hopes for the show and so much more. Highlights can be found below.

On connecting with Veronica: “I had never felt more confident about a role and about playing a character than I had with Veronica. I read the breakdown for this and I was like, she could not be closer to who I am.”

On Lili playing Betty: “She really is the Betty to my Veronica. We’re out to portray two iconic characters on our own, plus we’re portraying an iconic friendship. To have someone to take on that challenge with me is really special. I don’t have to do it alone, I have Lili with me.”

On finding out she got the part of Betty: “I got the call and I was like, ‘Oh my god!’ I started crying, and after I found out I ate my hot dog like a champion. It was one of the best days of my life.”

On her hopes for her character: “I want her to be stronger and not let people walk all over her. In the comic books, Archie just kind of picks between each girl every other day. No girl wants to watch a girl on television be pulled apart by a guy every which way. You want a girl who doesn’t let someone do that to her.”
