Paige O’Hara Excited to See Emma Watson Take on the Role of Belle

The original Belle has given her stamp of approval on Emma Watson portraying the character in the upcoming live action Beauty and the Beast. Paige O’Hara, who voiced Belle in the animated classic, revealed to press her feelings on Emma’s casting while promoting the animated movie’s 25th anniversary.

O’Hara told press,”I don’t think you could pick anyone more right for Belle that’s out there that’s the right age. She’s beautiful, she’s got the intelligence, she’s extremely smart. I think she’s going to be wonderful. I really do!”

It will be so weird not to hear Paige’s voice when the live action comes out, but I am really excited to see Emma take on the role. I know she has what it takes acting wise, but it is the singing I am a little of unsure of and this is only because I have never really heard her sing.
