Tom Holland to Star in The Current War with Michael Shannon and Benedict Cumberbatch

Tom Holland has landed a new role. The Spider-Man actor has joined the cast of The Weinstein Company’s The Current War.

Tom will star alongside Michael Shannon and Benedict Cumberbatch in the Alfonso Gomez-Rejon- directed drama. The film will tell the story of the battle between George Westinghouse (Michael Shannon) and Thomas Edison (Benedict Cumberbatch) to create a sustainable electricity system and market it to the U.S. Tom will play Samuel Insull, Edison’s right hand man.

Nicholas Hoult and Katherine Waterston are also set to star in the movie. No word on when production will begin, but if we hear anything we will let you know.
