Maisie Williams is urging people to stop purchasing tickets to marine animal shows. Today, December 2, Maisie spoke to AP’s Yuri Kageyama from Taiji, Japan, where she and The Dolphin Project have spent the past couple of days fighting against dolphin hunting, urging people to stop going to these shows in hopes this will begin to prevent dolphin hunting

Maisie told AP, “These animals travel the ocean. That’s what they explore daily. No tank will be big enough. No tank will ever be deep enough, ever be exciting enough,” Taiji was the small town depicted in the 2009 documentary, The Cove.

Maisie says her fight is “…not an attack on Japan at all, or on Taiji, or the people of Taiji. I want to say, honestly, hand on heart, that this is not an attack on anyone in specific.” But it is a fight to protect these animals.

During her visit to Japan, Maisie will also visit the “…Mikura Islands, south of Tokyo, where whales are protected and dolphins are often seen swimming in the wild.”
