Girl Meets World Showrunner Remains Positive Amid Cancellation

Girl Meets World showrunner, Michael Jacobs spoke with The Wrap about the recent cancellation of the show. Earlier this month it was announced that Disney Channel would not be renewing the show for a fourth season and Jacobs believes that was a “mistake”.

But there may be some hope at the end of the tunnel, Jacobs did say that there are discussions in the work to continue the show. Jacobs said, “We are certainly having discussions, there are some interested platforms. I don’t think ‘Girl should have been canceled. We signed to do four seasons. I thought we would be able to tell stories through four seasons. That’s the way we set it up. It was going to be a remarkable final year. But I understand, things end.”

Fans of the show have been working hard trying to get the show picked up by other sites, namely Netflix and Hulu, and they seem to be hearing positive things from those sites, so here’s hoping someone like Netflix picks it up.
