Warner Bros To Release Film Adaptation Of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child In 2026 With The Original Trio To Star?

Apparently a film adaptation of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child is in the works. This straight to stage project from J.K. Rowling hit the London stage scene last summer to pretty high demand.

According to theme park insider Jim Hill, Warner Bros. is hoping to capitalize on the success of the stage show by releasing the first film in the trilogy starting in 2026. Hill goes on to say that the company has been in touch with original film stars, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint about reprising their iconic roles.

He says, “They [WB] want this trilogy of movies to have the actors that we know and love from the original films, that we watched grow up, as adults. And, of course, they’re hiring a bunch of new, younger actors to play their children with the hope that, if we can lean on J.K. [Rowling], maybe there’ll be The Cursed Adolescent.”

Now nothing has officially been confirmed as of yet and we probably won’t hear anything soon, seeing as we are still nine years out from a potential release. However, one never knows with Warner Bros so stay vigilant.

Personally, I do not want to see this on a big screen. I didn’t care for the book and refuse to accept it as canon.
