Selena Gomez Attends 13 Reasons Why Press Day
Selena Gomez met with press today, February 8 in New York City. Selena, her mom and cast members from her new series, 13 Reasons Why met with press to talk about the new Netflix series.
Set to premiere on the streaming site on March 31, 13 Reasons Why, based on the best-selling series by Jay Asher, follows teenager Clay Jensen in his quest to uncover the story behind his classmate and crush Hannah’s decision to end her own life.
Selena is an executive producer on the new show and when asked how Selena related to the project during the meeting today, Selena told the press, “I was going through a really difficult time when they started production. I went away for 90 days and talked with a lot of kids. It definitely hit home, a very important part of me. Kids have to see something that’s frightening, I want them to understand I definitely relate to everything. I was a mess.”
She went on to say, “I’ve had these conversations with my fans. They tell me these things. I can’t stand social media, I can’t stand what they think is reality.”
